Could you please print in the next issue the correct authorities to inform about street/park lighting. I am sure I am not the only person aware of this ongoing situation. Let's make sure it doesn't take a victim of crime (i.e. mugging or worse) before anything is done about this very dark situation.

Best regards,

M. Hunter

Everyone hates all the new road calming nonsense popping up all over Peacehaven. Give a thought for the poor people who have to live directly in front of those disgusting light polluting obelisks at night. While walking the dogs at night, I often pity those poor souls who have to look out their front windows to see their entire front gardens lit up 365 days a year!

What a waste of taxpayers money!!!!!!

I would not usually include two letters form the same person but your second one has a point that may not have been raised before. However it was reported at the last Quarterly meeting that the Road Calming scheme is now at the audit stage and all correspondence relating to the scheme are with the ‘Independent Safety Auditor’. Unfortunately no new comments can be added.

With regard to street lighting you may contact East Sussex County Council as follows:-

If you spot a problem with a street light or illuminated traffic sign, please call the fault centre on 0808 1003118. Just tell them where the lamp is, and if possible give the number of the column (which is usually stencilled on the side facing the road). If possible, please give a description of the full fault, such as lamp out, day burning, intermittent fault, vandalism etc.
